Stoke City have confirmed that Peter Sweeney has been arrested on a drink-driving charge. The former Millwall midfielder has struggled to make an impact at the Britannia Stadium since joining the club in the summer of 2005 and recently spent 3 months out on loan at League One promotion hopefuls Yeovil Town. Sweeney was arrested in London over the weekend and Police enquiries are still ongoing. The club have announced it wishes to make no further comment at this time.
